thank you for the kind words...i hope the sod gets enough water too...its gonna be tough for them to water everything...that sure is a nice facility...
hope to see you sometime and say hi in person...
small world isn't it? There were lots of things I loved about Michigan, sleeping weather being one of them, but the last winter I was there (in Grand Rapids getting my master's degree) we got 12 inches of snow over night at least twice. I had not garage and no more wish for snow. Now, being in Texas for 16 years, I miss it (but don't tell my family, they want me back and I want them here, and since I have the most children they should move here). Happy trails!
Hey Barb, I grew up outside of Lansing in a little town called Grand Ledge. Now I live outside of Austin. My mom still lives in Lansing and I'd love to tell her about winter smart driving once you get the experience. She's 70 and drives a Jag, not wealthy just lucked into a really good used deal.
Barb, you mentioned that your kids thought you were crazy getting a smart car. In my garage I now have a smart car, and I still have a 2000 vw beetle and my wife drives a pt cruiser. my 27 year old son remarked to us "dont you guys want to drive a normal looking car?"
Hi Barb, I am about 60 miles north of Cape May. We like it there also. Wonderful restaurants, and bed and breakfasts in Victorian style homes. Also fun to take the Cape May- Lewes ferry over to Delaware and scoot over to the Tanger outlets as well as Rehobeth Beach
I ordered the same car that you have! Yellow, black cell, leather the works! I ordered it in Feb 08. It will be here in July of 2009!!! I'm going to keep that one when it comes in too! My husband loves my Silver Smart Alec....and he owns a Maserati and Cadillac XLR convertible!!!
I picked up my current smart Alec on Saturday June 14, after calling the dealership Thursday to complain about the 18 month wait on the yellow smart.
As I was kindly asking the manager about the wait list for an orphan, someone's Cabriolet was in the show room and they had just one day left to pick it up.....If I wanted that car, drive an hour to the dealership and take delivery on Saturday.
I think if I had been mean on the phone the manager would have just told me to wait. But Karma is good and I was at the right place at the right time:)
I really like the yellow! It is sooooo happy! People cant help but smile! It's like a Ray of Sunshine..
Have you gotten any ideas for vanity plates? Look at Billo's page. His car is itibiti and he has photos of members from every state and their plates.
I see on the forum that you had suggested XM Sirius radio and On Star....The navigational system radio that was added to my current Smart has the option for me to sign up for XM or Sirius radio.
I had a STS Cadillac with both XM and On Star and I do miss the On star.
BTW... what part of MI are you from? I lived in Saginaw-Freeland with my husband for a year and a half. He worked for a subsidiary of General Motors and we got transferred 5 times all over the states. We are now in Sunny Palm Desert.
Take care and congrats on your car. Can't wait for my Sunny to get here:)
I am glad you are Blessed beyond measure! God is good!!!
I love your car, I ordered one just like it for my wife. I would count it a privilege to be adde to your friends page. Just go to my page and under my car photo select the friend request tab.
Hey Barb, I'm glad that I'm hearing so many great things about the smart. My only question is: How good is the Air Conditioning in your smart? I live in Austin and it routinely gets in the high 90's to the low 100's in late July and August. Cool air is well .... cool. Thanks for your input. Keep in touch. Allen Ray
