Yours is awesome. Can people walk by and just pop the dots off? I thought I was ordering two full panels of vinyl wrap, so people wouldn't mess with 'em. When they arrived they were strips and I'm a bit concerned - but - oh, well..... It looks good enough for now. I noticed yours a couple days ago and assumed the car was a wrap. I'm totally impressed you undertook such a time consuming project. I hope it lasts for years and years!!!
I didn't know about the meet on the 11th. Plaese send out some info and I'll touch base with Billy @Loeber's and let the Facebook people know and on SCOA also. Are you thinking about going to the Dells in June? Dave Schembri(?) is going to be there and Steve from Smartieparts might come and offer a great discount on his cruise control.I am going to contact IKEA about having a meet there in the summer.Keep in touch we all missed you at the last meet!
Let us know when and where. We would like to meet up. I am trying to put together a coffee/ brunch meet up for the 25th or the 1st of Feb. so if you want to wait and see what happens that is also an option. I am going to take a short poll with everyone tomorrow about which day and where to meet and only leave it open for the weekend. Once we/I have a final tally I'll annouce it to the group.. I saw the body kit on E-bay also and Jim might get a run for his money, it all depends on shipping.
Hope you had a great holiday season and i keep in touc h.
Sandra- I found a complete body kit on EBay- A local woman wanted a white smart- she bought a black orphan and ordered a white kit-had the dealer swap out the panels and sold the black original panels. I bought them basically on a lark but installed the black on the rear- I was able to do it in about 2 hours start to finish with hand tools and zero instructions! I like the two-tone look but I still have the original silver panels and can always change it back. You can always paint the panels- My dealer has painted several orphans in some wild colors-and the silver is paint while the black is molded plastic.
Hey, Sandra: I didn't realize people could actually reach me as I have never looked at my own page until today. Queen Creek AZ is south-east of Phoenix. It takes me about an hour to get to downtown Pheonix--but I only do that to attend a Suns or Diamondback game (or, perish the thought, jury duty.)
Thanks for the sympathy :) I think it hit me harder just because of what I dealt with to get it fixed a few weeks ago. The damage isn't too bad. They will just have to replace the rear and rear-side panels, and one of the tow hook covers. It was raining but I was at a complete stop with about 10 cars ahead of me, so they were just going too fast and not paying attention. At least they have insurance!!
I am looking forward to the next SMART gathering. Maybe we can do it at Woodfield Mall and drive our cars around the inside of the mall, haha.
