We should soon receive our plates. Look for the Silver Cabrio with the plates "WIICAR". My wife got bit by the bug when she saw a TV add for the Wii game console. Two Oriental guys stepped out of one during the commercial. Soon there after I saw a blue/silver 450 from Ontario passing through Ann Arbor on I-94. Camera photos shown to my wife sealed the deal. We reserved on 28 Aug 08 at the height of fuel prices. Diesel was running very close to $5 per gallon. Fill ups were costing me $125 or more. So, I wanted to wean myself away from the big oil companies, even if it meant taking a car payment. The wait time was excruciating. However, my time in the pipeline was only a mere 8 months. To speed up the process I opted to take delivery of a somewhat more expensive model. I personally feel that it paid off. The ride is one that is very stiff, very sporty, tight and sort of go-kartlike. Fun, though, but I find that you need to pay constant attention as the car at high speed (70mph) can wander within your lane a bit. The steering is also likewise very stiff and has a short steering wheel lock-to-lock turn distance. But, I can look beyond these perceived short-coming by understanding what the overall purpose that was designed in. Thanks!!
Just wanted to drop you a quick line. I too live in Pinckney. If you see a silver Brabus running around, it will be my wife. We took delivery on April 15th. 1st tank mileage=331 miles, 8.23 gals., 40.2mpg. A huge improvement over our '97 Dodge P/U. Hope to see you around.
Yep! That was us! I was on my way home from dinner. :) Were you at the anniversary Saturday? We won for best plate! I have this awesome smart jacket! One evening at Kroger, I pulled next to Smartie in the lot- I wish I had my camera. :)
Thanks for the note.
I may have seen you parked on a lot off 1st street once? I have the blue with black trim, red interior, WIZDOM plate.
I've see about 7 different cars so far around Ann Arbor.
Rick, still loving every minute. Don't have near as many miles as you, but took her first road trip (only about 200 miles, from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Austin) last weekend and all went very well. My mileage is ranging between 34 and 40 mpg, just like expected. I'm still thoroughly enjoying all the comments and driving around with a big goofy smile on my face. And the weather has been really mild so far this fall for the most part, so I've had the top down most of the time.
I wondered if that was you! :-) I like your plate. Yeah, I normally don't go that fast, but I wanted to catch up to you. I had it up close to 80. I hate it this dirty, the winter is going to be tough to keep it clean. I'll tell ya, these gas prices- I just filled up for around $14 for the week! Yippee! STILL LOVE IT. See ya back on 23 - I'm there every morning close to the same time, heading down to Saline.
Or, play around with "smart." Like mensa42. Or, you could come up with somethink to key off the color blue? There are a ton of possibilities! I wanted "smartie" but we know who had that one! :-) That's why I went with the "ey".
Yep- one day on my way home I pulled into Kroger, here was Smartie and a spot next to him! Of course I pulled right next to him. When I came out, I met A2Jack, his owner! :-) It's great to be part of the smart community!
Way cool! You wouldn't have recognized Smartey, we were in my truck. :-) Yeah, I wanted to pop the top today myself, but it was a bit chilly. There are still some days left, I'm sure, before we have to turn on the heat regularly. Have FUN!!!
Congratulations! Smartey will keep his eyes out for you in blue. :-) We are 1/2 mile down the road from Cap't Frosty's. Keep your eyes open across M-36 and down US-23. Do you have an idea for a personalized plate?
