Hi, Thanks for the greeting. Our Smart for Two, Passion is silver and black. We love it. I get comments like is it electric and can you go on the highway. Our town is a golf cart town, and we were going to buy one but thought that was crazy since it would cost almost as much and you can only drive it in our town. Anyway we love. By the way our car is named Sipngas. Happy New Year to all the smart car owners. Mary

It wasn't just me then :)
My friend had a similar issue with another reporter for a club she has (un-related to Smart cars)
I guess that happens
but man! I was absolutely SHOCKED to read that article
I got the doors on last week. i have it totally pimped out! Thorley exhaust, doors, chrome on the rear, power booster, GPS and DVD player, Arm rest, Scan Guage II, the list goes on! I will have pictures here soon.
My name is natty and I see you're from MA (one of the states I've been dying to visit) :)
anyways, I've been trying to find more participants from the New England area to take my Smart Car owner survey. This is for a marketing strategy plan that I have to do for one of my classes at Fordham University. It'll only take a few minutes and my group and I would really love to hear from you. :)

I'm Dave Mayall and I own the Smart Advertising Partners, we advertise exclusively on Smart cars. I will give you a list to choose from of companies that would like to advertise on your Smart. When the contract is signed and the car is wrapped by one of my 3M reps you start getting paid. The term is for one year, I have had a few companies that only want 6 month ads. Depending on your location and your driving habits (miles per day), a monthly payment is agreed upon. The monthly payments range from an entry level of $200 and a top level of $500. Let me be clear, "you sell nothing" your work is driving your car as you already do. At the end of the 1 year contract the company may want to continue with the ad, if you are willing to continue you are more than welcome to. If you choose to not advertise any longer the ad is removed from your car, and your Smart is washed and waxed. This is the basic information, if you would be interested in Smart Advertising, please let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the welcome. My SMART is an adorable red with silver cell, red interior...and I just love it. I've wanted one since July '08. I was waiting in our car for my husband while he was in an Autozone, and as I watched all thecars go in and out of Walmart, about 99% had only one or two people in them. I thought what a waste of space, weight, and the fuel used to move that empty space...my son mentioned the SMART and I was sold! I'm getting 45mpg and now my husband wants one!
Zipp, My Orphan is a Passion, metalic blue with silver cell. Tan interior, rally package on dash. Wanted fog lights but the dealer couldn't find me one, so am looking into buying the fog light kit (it's basically a Mercedes kit) and having it installed after market by a local shop recommended by the smart sales manager. This weekend I'm going to see how well my Thule bike rack adapts to Z Little Guy.
Thanks, Zipp. I still have questions before I buy a Smart4Two. I wrote earlier that I'd test driven a used '08 Cabriolet with 20K. The transmission was awful. The engine power cut out during each shift change producing a rather uncomfortable whiplash effect. Is this typical of older Smart transmissions or is this just an abused used car? (Twenty thousand miles on a year-old car seemed like a lot.) All other aspects of the car were terrific. (I test drove it for over an hour. The used car salesman wasn't familiar with the car.)
Thanks for your words of encouragment and sorry for the delay in my response. My wife of 28 years fell on xmas eve and broke her femur near her hip. She also broke her shoulder and tore her rotator cuff. She fit well in our smart with her walker and now her cane. She is recovering very quickly. I have 6k+ miles on the smart and avg mpg is over 38. I has done great in the snow, ice and sleet of NE Ohio. Thanks again for you note.
We picked Purl up in Cincinnati on Dec. 11, 2008. She's white & black-striped passion. Took her for a wash a couple of weeks ago and she appreciated that w/ all the snow & slush around. We've been stopped in parking lots and she's had her picture taken several times already. We love her...mileage is avg. 36/37 mpg. Thanks for the welcome.
Thank you Brother Zipp....AWESOME to hear that you love Jesus, also. I need more time to write and talk. Getting kind of late here. Will contact and talk more tomorrow. Gonna get up early, and got a test drive at Smartcar in Buckhead( North of Atlanta, Ga.) Can't buy now, but I AM Trusting in the Lord for the money soon, hopefully. You know, Bro Zipp, HIS timing, and HIS Will, NOT mine. Praise GOD, Brother, and I Pray the LORD BLESS You in ALL you do, Too!!! Your Brother in CHRIST JESUS..... Jeffrey.
